‘I’m ready to land please’

As we entered the last half hour of our journey, we prepped Rufus for landing by putting his seatbelt on and telling him what was about to happen. He spent that last half hour telling everyone who walked past that he was ‘ready to land please’.

We were all very ready to land.

A two hour delay on the tarmac of Manchester Airport, followed by a lost buggy in transit, followed by a sprint through Brussels airport to just about make our flight to Chicago.

And that’s before we think about entertaining the boys/persuading them to sleep. And getting past the immigration officer and the questions about our differing return flights.

But we made it. Phew!

We’re now staying with some very kind friends while we sort furniture, internet, house bits and bobs, work out how to start off life here, and all the rest…!
